Who are we?
'SOAS Palestine Society' is an independent
non-profit society established more than 30 years ago and is run by
dedicated student members. We help to create awareness about the Palestine
question and strive towards a greater national coordination between UK-based
students and societies. Our goal is to present the Palestinian Cause in a
clear, unified and effective manner that is accessible to all members of
society. We aim to achieve this through a variety of ways, such as:
Annual Conference:
Every year we strive to bring together a variety of scholars and activist
to map out past, present, and future aspects of the injustice exercised on
Palestine and the Palestinians. One such example was the 2003 conference
entitled Edward W. Said ‘A Continuing legacy was held on 3rd October at the
Institute of Education, Logan Hall. The one-day programme consisted of more
than 12 world-renowned speakers and was attended by more than a 1000 people.
Currently, we are working on getting the proceeds published and posted
electronically on our website.
Annual Film Festival
This serves as a visual way
of introducing people to the Palestinian culture and giving them an insight
into everyday life of Palestinians. We plan to expand our existing collection
of films and documentaries, building up an archive that will be available to
all students free of charge. We hope to run a film festival, which would tour
UK campuses.

exhibition in a manner that highlights the current predicament of Palestinian
Students. We also want to develop our ROR- Palestinian Refugees exhibition.
Finally, we are aiming to develop another exhibition on the Wall
Literature
A series of leaflets tackling various aspects of the conflict, such as
the history of the conflict, the refugee problem and the current situation, are
and will be produced.
